Terms of Service
Last updated 20 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Pickovie for using the app. By installing or using Pickovie, you accept them.
1. Who can use Pickovie
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian’s permission. You are responsible for anything that happens under your account.
2. Your account
Pickovie creates an anonymous account for you on first launch so you can start using it immediately. You can optionally add an email address, which lets you sign in again on a new device using a one-time code. Keep access to that mailbox secure, because anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.
You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Account & settings → Account Info → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent.
3. What Pickovie does, and does not, promise
Pickovie recommends films and TV shows and tells you where they appear to be streaming. Catalogue data, ratings and availability come from third parties and change constantly. We do not guarantee that a title is actually available on a given service, in your country, at the price shown, or at all.
Pickovie is not a streaming service. It does not host, stream or sell any film or TV content, and following a link out of the app takes you to a third party with its own terms.
4. Duos and shared content
Pickovie lets you pair with another person. When you do, they can see your display name and profile picture, the titles you both liked, and when you were last active. Share an invite code only with someone you actually want in your duo. Anyone holding a valid code can join.
Do not use a display name or profile picture that is unlawful, obscene, hateful, impersonates someone else, or infringes another person’s rights. We may remove content or suspend accounts that do.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile or tamper with the app, except where the law says you may.
- Access the service by automated means, scrape it, or place unreasonable load on it.
- Attempt to reach another user’s data, or bypass any access control.
- Use Pickovie for anything unlawful, or to harass anyone.
6. Ownership
The app, its design, its recommendation system and the Pickovie name are ours. These terms grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, and nothing more.
Content you supply, such as your display name and profile picture, remains yours. You grant us the licence needed to store it and show it to your duo partner inside the app.
7. Film and TV data
Pickovie uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. Film and TV metadata, artwork and ratings are provided by The Movie Database and remain the property of their respective owners.
8. Price
Pickovie is currently free. If we introduce a paid tier in future, the terms, price and renewal details will be shown to you before you are charged, and anything you buy through the app will be billed by Apple under its own terms.
9. Changes and availability
We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of Pickovie. We will give reasonable notice of a change that materially disadvantages you where we can. We may also update these terms; continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the new version.
10. Ending this agreement
You can stop at any time by deleting your account and removing the app. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, or if we stop offering the service.
11. Disclaimers and liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Pickovie is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, or loss of profit. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
If you are a consumer, you keep all the statutory rights your local law gives you, and nothing in these terms takes them away.
12. Apple
These terms are between you and Pickovie, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and you and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Texas.
If you are a consumer living somewhere whose law gives you rights that cannot be waived by agreement, this section does not take those rights away from you.
